Saturday is Caption Day!

Posted on

Saturday again and caption time!
Have fun thinking up captions for my picture 🙂
Isaac is fascinated with anything with a screen-phone, laptop, TV…I’m not sure he could believe his luck that he was in touching distance!
If you look closely his tongue is sticking out in concentration!

The Gallery-Extreme Close up

The theme for this weeks gallery is Extreme Close Up

The photo I’ve chosen is of Isaacs smile. We were trying to get a photo of his first tooth-as you can see he’s very good at hiding it!
He’s generally very smiley, even this morning, after a very broken nights sleep, when I went to get him out his cot I was rewarded with a gorgeous good morning smile!

My week that was #10

If I had to sum up this week I would say noisy!
Isaac is continuing to explore the different noises he can make with his mouth, so cute and so loud! The electricity board are digging up our street. Since Isaac has been born the water board, sewage works now the electricity board have dug the road up, thank god he can sleep through the house shaking!
Anyway, on Monday we had a chilled day at home and a lovely walk in the park.

Tuesday we went to Tiny Talk. Isaac especially enjoys the Dingle Dangle Scarecrow song, he has a big smile on his face all the way through!

Wednesday and Thursday were spent chilled at home and out for lovely walks in the sunshine. It’s so warm, definitely time for the summer wardrobe although I’m needing a bit of an update! Last year I was pregnant so lived in floaty maxi dressed and this year I need breast feeding friendly clothes!

Friday our normal baby sensory class was cancelled at the last minute so I thought if have a go at some sensory activities at home

I’ve written a post about this which you can read here
We had lots of fun!

Saturday was lovely and sunny. We popped to do some shopping, Isaac helped Mr P with a bit of work!

Then we went for a lovely sunny walk by the river in the afternoon-we walked further than we thought, I was quite tired after!

Sunday (after loosing an hours sleep, an hour I really didn’t have to lose!) we had a quiet morning reading books, playing with toys and Isaac determinedly wanting to crawl!

In the afternoon we found a new park to explore, it’s massive with lots of different parts and we’re both looking forward to Isaac being able to toddle round with us in the future!
And that was our week! Full of smiles, giggles and dare I say it a teensy but more sleep!

Pinterest Party #6

The theme for this weeks Pinterest Party is heaven. A heavenly treat, possession, place…..
At the moment my immediate idea of heaven would be sleep(especially after the hour lost last night!)
However! I’ve chosen this picture this week

source Pinterest

Anyone who has looked at my Pinterest boards will have noticed a fair amount of cupcake pictures! Of course I love eating them! But baking them too-luckily Mr P is happy to be official taste tester!
My idea of heaven would be one day to open my own cup cake cafe, maybe even combine it with my infant massage training. And if I can have it next to the beach, even better! 🙂
Don’t forget to head over to Moore mummy to see other peoples ideas of heaven!

A fun afternoon with plastic bottles……

Posted on

Since he was born Isaacs favourite toys by far have been a shaker and ribbon toy

He’s been given lots of toys by kind friends and family and of course he plays with them but he always comes back to these two homemade toys.

As he’s grown he’s changed the way he plays with them from chewing them and enjoying us shaking them for him to holding them and shaking them himself, and of course still chewing them-the ribbon toy has been especially good for teething.

This afternoon we’ve been playing with 3 new sensory toys I’ve made and have had a brilliant time exploring them.

The first bottle I’ve filled with rice and gold sparkly stars. Isaac has loved watching the rice move about inside, shaking the bottle, chewing it and enjoying the sound it makes when he squeezes the plastic.

The second bottle is filled with sweet wrappers-such hardship, Mr P and I had to eat the chocolates!- he enjoys looking at the colours

And it’s been a great chance to practice his fine motor skills playing with the individual wrappers

The third bottle is water, washing up liquid and again sparkly stars-I do love my glitter!
This bottle is heavier and he initially wasn’t sure but has learnt to hold it with 2 hands and loves it if we shake the bottle really fast and make lots of bubbles!

And that was our afternoon! I’m aiming to keep adding to his sensory toys, he seems to get so much out if them and I’m secretly quite chuffed he loves something I’ve made for him!
